waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.synopsis... a 29.6 inch low pressure near the straits of 
mackinac continues east this evening. as the low tracks over 
southern quebec into friday, 30.2 inch high pressure will slide 
southeast into the great lakes. the high builds to 30.4 inches 
friday night, then continues east to new england by saturday 
evening. a 29.6 inch low pressure trough will organize sunday over
the plains, then lift toward the great lakes monday. this low 
moves north and deepens to 29.4 inches over the hudson bay, 
sending 29.5 inch troughing over lake superior late monday 
meanwhile a secondary 29.5 inch low develops in the southern 
plains and creeps north tuesday.
